The Social Circuit: Work or Fun? - Actually both. The Attaché
spends a significant part of their time outside the office and working
outside of office hours (approximately 75% of evenings are spent
outside of the home, this includes the spouse). While many may say
that attending dinner parties and receptions is not working, the
real purpose of these events is to build relationships. In Israel
there are diplomats from 30 plus countries and we enjoy a myriad
of social occasions together to learn more about each other's countries
Preparing to host an event takes a considerable amount of time and
effort but we enjoy having both the diplomatic corps and special
friends we have made in Israel to our home often.
Fortunately for us, the diplomatic corps here has been fantastically
helpful and supportive.
So far, we have been afforded the opportunity to meet the following
leaders: Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, President Katzav,
Foreign Minister Shimon Perez, Defense Minister Ben Eliezer, Former
Prime Minister Benjamin Netenyahu, Former Prime Minister Barak.
Former President Ezer Weizmann, U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell.

responsible for information pertaining to all attaches in Israel.
They organize events to develop relationships within the Attaché

arranges orientation and informational briefings for the Association.
Social events include the Fall and Spring Ball, as well as the IDF
Sports Day.
